Is BadGal BANG Worth the Hype?

Sunday, 25 February 2018

Anyone who knows me will know that I am a Benefit fiend. Name any Benefit product you like, I'll have either tested it or own it. Their products dominate my make-up stash by a long way because of their pretty packaging, incredible formulas and amazing results.

I have to admit though, when I heard of the launch of Benefit's latest mascara, BadGal BANG (and if you haven't heard of it yet, where have you been?!) I was... apprehensive. I love Benefit mascaras, but the original BadGal left much to be desired for me, and I was concerned that this latest addition would be much the same.

I spent a lot of time scouring some of my favourite blogs, looking for reviews and trying to decide whether it was worth investing in. And I found pretty much a mixed bag. The solution? Bite the bullet, go out and buy it and test it out myself.

I opted for the mini version of BadGal BANG, using the reasoning that if I hated it, I had only spent £10 and no love lost, right?

When it comes to mascara wands, I'm ridiculously fussy. But I love the wand on BadGal BANG, it isn't the type which attracts clumps and it's got enough bristles to coat every lash.

The actual formula of BadGal BANG is quite wet, for lack of a better word. The first time I used it, I did get the odd fleck fly off the wand and onto my face, so my advice would be that you wiggle the wand through your lashes to stop that from happening. In all honesty, it did take me a few days to get used to it and apply it in a way that worked for me. I usually want length rather than volume when it comes to mascara, and at first, this only seemed to make my lashes stick together. But once I'd got the knack of it, it turned out that I loved it more than I'd ever expected to! It gives me the length that I want as well as uplifting volume, making my lashes stand out without any clumps. And the more I wear it, the more I fall in love with it!

In all honesty, this mascara can take a bit of getting used to, so I'd recommend that if you're giving it a try, stick with it, it might surprise you. Now it's one of my favourites, and I actually regret only getting the mini version rather than the full-sized!

My verdict? BadGal BANG is absolutely worth the hype for me. And that's from someone who thought nothing would ever come close to Too Faced's Better Than Sex. If you're not quite sure if it's for you, definitely give the mini version a go!

Have you tried this mascara yet? What did you think?

Love,
Sian xo

  3. I personally don't use Benefit Cosmetics as it's not a cruelty-free brand. However, I completely recommend Barry M Cosmetics' Show Girl Mascara - it's my favourite ever! čîŞ✨

  5. I've read so many mixed reviews on this mascara! Luckily, there's going to be one in my March Birchbox, so I'm holding out for that to try it out.
