Garnier Micellar Water

Friday, 16 October 2015

Hello lovelies!

I'm about to make a confession that no beauty blogger ever wants to make. Don't judge me, okay? Here goes...

For a while now, I've been using face wipes to take my make-up off.

I know, it's bad. Face wipes are bad. For anyone who may not know, face wipes generally aren't brilliant for your skin because they only cleanse the top layer of your skin. They don't get right into the deep layers of the skin so in the long run can cause problems.

BUT they're just so quick and easy, especially when it comes to removing eye make-up after a long day. I always used a foaming face cleanser afterwards so I told myself that my secret use of face wipes was okay. No one ever had to know, right?

Wrong. So wrong. As it sometimes does, my skin decided to start rebelling. Spots popped up all of a sudden, there were dry patches all over my face, and my face began to sting whenever I put anything on it.

I wasn't a happy bunny, and when your skin's in that kind of state, it's such a confidence killer. I wasn't sure what had triggered it, so I tried switching up my routine to see what the problem was.

I picked up Garnier's Micellar Water mostly because it was on offer in Boots. I'd heard good things about Micellar Water already and wanted something Auber-light to try not to aggravate my skin.

This is the first product I've ever used that gets rid of every little bit of eye make-up, which I definitely wasn't expecting. But at the same time it's really gentle on the skin and leaves it feeling light, fresh and thoroughly cleansed. It's such an amazing alternative to face wipes as you simply put a little bit on a cotton pad and sweep it across the face, and so much more effective!

Best of all, within a couple of days of using it, my dry patches disappeared and my skin is now back to normal! I definitely won't be going back to face wipes any time soon!

I'd definitely recommend Garnier Micellar Water to anyone who needs a light cleanser which is kind to sensitive skin, especially as an alternative to face wipes.

Have you tried this product before, or any other micellar water? Let me know what you think!

Love,
Sian Kathrine xo

  1. I am guilt of the face wipe crime also. I've been trying to get a routine going recently and I love this stuff. Makes your skin feel mega soft :)

    1. Ooooh does bioderma do pretty much the same thing?

It's so much trial and error when it comes to skincare haha but it's quite nice to test out other products! xo

  3. I've actually just finished my first bottle of this one! At first I didn't like it, but after some time I got used to it! It's not as powerful as the bioderma, but for a fraction of the price I think it's really lovely indeed! :) xx
