Erase Paste

Monday, 31 August 2015

Hello lovelies!

When I first started this blog, I warned you all that I'm probably the world's biggest Benefit fan and that there will be about a million posts about Benefit products. Another one is coming your way, sorry! (But not really sorry.)

This little pot of wonder is the BEST concealer I've ever used. In between uni, nights out and working really unsociable hours, dark under-eye circles seem to be a constant feature on my face. I've tried so many different concealers but none of them have worked anywhere near as well as Erase Paste.

I can only describe Erase Paste as industrial-strength. The product itself is lovely and creamy, and quite thick so less is definitely more. The very first time I used it I got a bit over-enthusiastic, put way too much on and when I tried to blend it, it went everywhere and I ended up looking like a ghost! It took me a couple of tries to master but once I did the results were amazing.

Not only does Erase Paste cover my dark circles, it actually brightens the whole eye area, which is perfect for making me look bright eyed and awake after a big night out or an exhausting week at work.

What about you? What's your favourite product for hiding dark circles and those pesky blemishes?

Don't forget you can find me on Twitter and Instagram @SianKathrine! (I'm not very imaginative with the usernames!)

Jumper/Shirt: Primark
Skirt: New Look
Boots: New Look
Bag: Miss Selfridge

Hello lovelies!

Now that Autumn is just around the corner, I'm super excited to share one of my favourite Autumn/Winter outfits with you! Autumn is my favourite season and I don't know about you all but I'm pretty excited to start wrapping up in jumpers and chunky boots again!

Chelsea boots were probably one of the best investments I've ever made. They're so effortless and go with absolutely everything (which is probably why mine look a little bit battered!)

Miss Selfridge have some really adorable handbags, I got this one last season as I was fed up of all of the old bus tickets and water bottles that were accumulating in the bottom of my bigger bags! It's perfect for every day and I'm obsessed with the cute shape!

When I wear all black and white outfits, I like to sneak a pop of colour in there somewhere. To finish off this look, I've used a touch of red lipstick (MAC in Ladybug).

Photo credit goes to my wonderful friend Fii, she's managed to take some fab photos despite the fact that I'm super awkward in front of the camera!

What are you most excited about wearing this Autumn? As ever, let me know what you think of my posts in the comments, I'd love to hear from you!

My Devon Adventures & Why You Should Try A Staycation

Monday, 24 August 2015

 Hello lovelies!

Those of you who follow me on Twitter (psst, if you don't, you can find me @SianKathrine) may have seen that I've spent the last week in Devon with my family and other half. I'm currently up to my eyeballs in washing and I'm already back to work but I just had to share with you about the lovely week that I've had and why staycation's are actually pretty great.

Devon is easily one of my favourite places in the world. When I was growing up, our family holidays were down in Devon every year, and to some people, the thought of spending their summer holiday in England is pretty unsavoury. But dragging three kiddies on a plane and have them cry and whinge and want food every five minutes was my mum's worst nightmare. We absolutely loved our holidays, and Devon is just SO beautiful. The picture above is actually the view from the patio doors of the lodge that we stayed in. It was in such a beautiful and peaceful location, and sitting on the decking with a cup of tea and a book first thing in the morning was just bliss.

Our first day was spent at Exmoor Zoo, which was a really lovely day. It wasn't the biggest zoo I've ever been to, but still plenty to see, with loads of talks throughout the day for you to go to.

Ilfracombe is a little harbour town on the coast of North Devon, and that's where we used to stay every year when we were little. So it was pretty much obligatory that we spent a day there! The weather was absolutely glorious and we spent the day just wandering around, sat in a rooftop beer garden and played a (really competitive) game of crazy golf! This is a picture of the view from the harbour, and it's one of my absolute favourite spots!

The weather the next day was equally gorgeous (who said England was all rain and gloom!) so we went to Clovelly, which is a beautiful little village steeped in history, walking down the high street towards the quay is like taking a step back in time. The whole village is privately owned and has been in the same family for three generations, so there's no council in control of it and it is run by locals. It's full of little cottages and shops, and the whole village sits along a hill with cobbled streets. I could have sat and looked at the views for days, it was absolutely stunning.

We had a couple of rainy days after that but overall we had a week of gorgeous weather, chilled out days and beautiful surroundings. At times it even felt like being abroad! Travelling to far-off places is amazing but I don't think enough people appreciate and take the time to explore the beauty we have here in England!

If you've had a staycation this summer, let me know! I want to hear your stories!

July's Benefit Haul!

Tuesday, 4 August 2015

Hello lovelies!

I'm sorry I've been away. Between moving house, university deadlines, and the End of Season Sale at work, I've had absolutely no time spare! I'm back now though, and I'll be blogging regularly, I promise!

Little disclaimer: I am an absolute Benefit fiend. I'm obsessed. It's a real problem. I love the products, the packaging, the way they market their products, the lot. So expect a lot of Benefit hauls from me!

My little trip to the Benefit counter a couple of weeks ago was fabulous. I was there for well over an hour chatting to the lovely sales assistant, who talked me through skincare, natural make-up and how to get a gorgeous dewy glow! I could have come away with a lot more but you know, I need money for rent and food.

My skincare routine has been all over the place for a long time now, and I like products which work quickly and are easy to use. Foamingly Clean is a gorgeous face wash which works itself into a lather and picks up all the nasty dirt and grime which face wipes miss. It left my skin feeling super soft instantly and made my face feel really fresh!

The Triple Performing Moisturiser is fantastic because it's a gorgeous light formula which is perfect for everyday use. The two products together are a winning combination for everyday, and I'm eventually going to build up to using the exfoliator from the same range twice a week, funds permitting!

That Gal is a primer which looks amazing either on its own or under make-up, and has given me this natural pinky glow. It goes on really well and lasts all day, and if I'm in a rush I can just slap a bit of That Gal on and my skin instantly looks smoother and brighter.

I've been DYING to try out the They're Real! beyond brown eyeliner and mascara ever since they brought it out. And while I'll always be a die-hard Rollerlash fan, the brown is perfect for days where I want to look a little bit more natural. The eyeliner draws on beautifully and doesn't smudge anywhere near as much as the black version tends to.

Foamingly Clean cleanser- £17.50
Triple Performing moisturiser- £22.50
That Gal primer- £22.50
They're Real! mascara in Beyond Brown- £18.50
They're Real! eyeliner in Beyond Brown- £19.50

What's your favourite make-up/skincare brand? Does anyone know of any Benefit dupes for me to try out? Leave me some comments below, I'd love to chat to you!
